How is Functional Medicine different?

Functional Medicine teaches us that well-being consists of various elements, or foundational blocks. If any of these blocks are unstable, the entire structure (your health) is impacted.

Each block represents a crucial part of the well-being puzzle: nutritious food, physical activity, sufficient rest, stress management, and emotional and spiritual health.

For instance, a well-rounded diet keeps our bodies functioning well, while exercise benefits our hearts and uplifts our spirits. Quality sleep helps our minds rejuvenate and bodies recharge. Managing stress effectively can prevent long-term health issues and enhance our quality of life. Emotional well-being aids in navigating relationships and inner emotions.

Spiritual well-being is often overlooked by Functional Medicine practitioners, but is a primary focus in my coaching practice.
